It is a fact of life that everyone’s skin ages eventually. Considering the
busy lifestyles we lead, it is not surprising that our skin can age prematurely.
As we age certain changes in our body become apparent, skin loses its
elasticity, wrinkles begin to appear and these are only a few of the visible
changes we experience. Similar processes are also happening within the body.
Every organ and system in the body is affected by ageing. Because of this we
become more vulnerable to conditions including heart disease, high cholesterol,
chronic infection, stroke, cancer, cataracts, macular degeneration and
Alzheimer's disease. To feel younger and minimise the signs of ageing, the body
must be addressed as a whole, both internally as well as externally.
Good genes and healthy living affect how we age. No one can control the
former, but it is possible to affect the latter. Living well includes getting
enough relaxation (avoiding stress), exercise, and eating nutritious foods. It
may also include taking vitamins.
Almost everyone has heard the terms “antioxidant” and “Free Radical” with
regards to ageing solutions, the reason for this being that there is an enormous
amount of evidence suggesting that they play a big role in the ageing process.
Antioxidants are compounds that deactivate havoc-wreaking molecules called
free radicals. The body generates free radicals as by-products of burning fuel
for energy within the cells, exercising, and fending off infections. They are
also created by exposure to various environmental factors, such as pollution,
tobacco smoke, the sun's ultraviolet light and radiation. Most free radicals in
the body are toxic oxygen molecules, which attach to cells and damage them as
they go. If antioxidants don’t mop up free radicals their damage builds up and
can fast forward the ageing process. Although many antioxidants can be obtained
from food, it is difficult to get enough of them to hold back the free radicals
constantly being generated from common stresses, infections and in our polluted
environment.
By protecting yourself early on you can make a big difference in the future.
Working from the inside out is the best approach to slowing down and (where
possible) minimising the signs of the natural ageing process. Combat free
radicals by providing your body with more antioxidants. When you are glowing
with health from the inside this will be reflected on the outside.
There are several key products that can be used to combat ageing and reduce
the deterioration of the skin and bodily functions. Internally, it is vital to
ensure that the anti-oxidant status is high, thus the Antioxidant Tincture or
Tonic would be ideal for providing the body with this. Topically there is the
renowned A4 Age Reverse skincare range, which will visibly reduce and repair
fine lines and strengthen the skin. In age, we tend to eat less volume of food
and nutrients are not so well absorbed, therefore it is extremely important the
diet is nutrient dense. Eat plenty of fruits and vegetables and drink lots of
water to keep your body hydrated.
