Asthma

Asthma is an inflammatory disorder of the airways. It is characterised by spasmodic contraction of the bronchi following exercise, emotional tension, infection, allergens: pollen and house dust, dust mites, mould and animal dander. Mucus production is also increased during this time.

Symptoms include: obstruction of airways with wheezing, rales or whistling sounds with a sense of constriction, shortness of breath and coughing. Asthma attacks can last from a few minutes to several days and can become dangerous if the airflow becomes severely restricted.

When treating asthma it is vital to avoid the allergens that may trigger an attack. It is possible to note which substances cause and allergic reaction or you can go for allergy testing.

For asthma it is essential to reduce the contractions within the bronchi, thus allowing oxygen to enter the body. The Breathe Tincture contains Elecampane which is good   for treating long-term chronic respiratory complaints. It will also coat the bronchi and reduce any irritation to the lining.

A combination of Geranium, Frankincense and Cypress, used in a base oil are excellent for reducing the frequency of attacks and the severity thereof.

Wild Flower pollen is also beneficial for strengthening the immune system.
