Tree Aid

As part of our ethical drive, we are proud to support TREE AID. Set up in the UK in 1987, TREE AID works to support communities in rural Africa to meet their basic needs and secure vital income, through the training and funding of tree focussed projects. We were confused initially as to what charity to help, people and environment topped our list and that was what we liked most about TREE AID. They support planting that is directly linked to thre livelihoods of the communities involved. And therefore we at Fushi are delighted that not only do our products help you feel better, but as a bonus you are contributing to the lives of others and the environment every time you buy a product. This is one small step for us but the more profit we make the more we can give, that's the idea! TREE AID is the UK’s only forestry-focused development charity providing funding and on-the-ground training to local organisations in the Sahel of Africa.

TREE AID works where people need trees most: in the poorest villages of Burkina Faso, Ethiopia, Ghana and Mail where 90% of people depend on trees for basics survival needs.

Over 6.6 million trees have been planted in woodlots, orchards, shelterbelts, and around homes, fields and along roads. And many other trees have been protected in tens of thousands of hectares of natural woodland.

More than 400,000 villagers have already directly benefited from TREE AID in particular through training and the receipt of trees. Many more have benefited through an improved environment.

TREE AID has raised more than £5.5 million since it was established in 1987 and has spent nearly £4 million on its charitable objectives.

In the UK, TREE AID raises awareness about the importance of forestry in alleviating poverty in some of the poorest regions of the world. Click here for further info
