Diarrhoea is an increase in the fluidity, frequency and volume of bowel movements. The passing of frequent liquid stools may be caused by parasites, bacterial or viral activity, food intolerances, stress or drugs. If the duration of diarrhoea is consistent and continuous then seek medical advice.

 

Drink plenty of fluid to avoid becoming dehydrated. It is also important to replenish the active cultures of beneficial bacteria, to lessen the severity and duration of the diarrhoea.

 

The Bilberry tincture may be used to combat mild diarrhoea. It contains tannins that coat the lining of the gastro-intestinal tract and thus prevent excess water from being transported into the stool.

 

For food or nerve related diarrhoea you can use Peppermint oil. it can be added to a base oil and massaged over the abdominal area. For viral-related diarrhoea you can try Eucalyptus oil in the same method of application.
