Hair - Dry
Hair - Dry
Dry brittle hair can be a result of to much sun, blow-drying, straightening
and using chemicals on the hair. These processes can strip the hair of its
natural oils and nutrients. Deficiencies of nutrients and essential fatty acids
which are required to nourish the hair can also lead to dryness and general lack
of lustre.
Dry hair can come and go from these external causes, however chronic dry hair
that comes from an internal source, can be a sign of an underlying health
problem such as malnutrition or thyroid problems.
Our hair reflects the state of our health as it is a protein rich material built
up on amino acids. When vital minerals and vitamins are lacking in the blood the
quality of our hair deteriorates resulting in hair loss, lustreless hair and a
change of texture.
After washing it is advised to let hair dry naturally. Brushing the hair helps
to stimulate and increases nutrient supply to the scalp, also it moves natural
oils along the strand to nourish it.
