Everybody loses hair everyday, it is normal to shed around 100 hairs which
are constantly being replaced. However when the hair loss is significant or the
hair is not re-growing there can be a number of causes. Heredity, hormones and
ageing can all determine the extent to which we lose hair.
A by-product of the hormone testosterone called dihydro-testosterone appears
to be implicated in the majority of cases of Male pattern baldness, although you
should also investigate potential iron deficiency, an under active thyroid,
fungal scalp infection or stress.
Hair loss in women is commonly a reaction to intense stress on the body's
physical or hormonal systems, a reaction to medication or possibly vitamin
deficiency especially iron. The condition, which can occur at any age, generally
begins fairly suddenly and gets better on its own within about six months,
although for a few people it can become a chronic problem.
Whatever the cause, thinning hair is always disturbing. Find ways to cope
with stress to minimize its effects on hair. If it becomes excessive, massage
the scalp morning and evening to stimulate circulation and relax the scalp with
Fushi’s scalp stimulating lotion.
If hair loss is due to nervous tension, it would be good to start nourishing
the nervous system and supporting the body's reaction to stress. The formula for
this would be the De-stress Tincture or Tonic. The Total Energy complex is high
in B vitamins, which are great for energy and decreasing stress.
The Skin, Hair and Nails Tincture or Tonic are important to remove any toxins
and cleanse the blood, thus improving the oxygenation to the head and enhance
the re-growth of hair.
If hair starts falling out in handfuls consult your Doctor.
