Indigestion
Indigestion

Indigestion, medically known as dyspepsia, is a term used to describe a variety of abdominal discomforts generally associated with eating.

Acute Indigestion may be caused by isolated episodes of overeating, excessive alcohol, rapid eating and irregular habits.

Chronic indigestion may indicate some serious disorder such as gastric ulcer or hiatus hernia, if this is the case then refer back to your GP.

The Digest formulas are excellent for reducing the effects of indigestion and also reducing the re-occurrence. The herbs work by stimulating the functioning of the gastro-intestinal tract and maintaining the proper breakdown and elimination processes within the body.

Fennel and Peppermint essential oils are also specific for digestive upsets. They can be added to a base oil and massaged over the abdominal area.

The bowel should contain over 500 different beneficial bacteria, which are vital for supporting many systems of the body including the digestive tract, immune system and detoxification organs such as the liver. These bacteria also make some of the essential vitamins we need and help to make sure that pathogenic bacteria (which can cause disease and illness) are not allowed to build up in the bowel.

This complex also includes Fructooligosaccharides (FOS) which is a special kind of carbohydrate substance which feeds the beneficial bacteria and therefore increases their chances of surviving and thriving in the bowel.
